OUR STORY
Founded in Weatherford, TX, Matador Electric was built on faith, family, and over a decade of licensed experience across six states. Here’s how it began…
Sam has been an electrician for over 10 years, and he was a professional bull fighter for a number of years before starting Matador Electric. Sam began his electrical apprenticeship in Laramie, WY with a small union company. There, he completed a 4 year apprenticeship program under instruction of some of the most noteworthy electrical instructors in the region. Their names appear in the NFPA books, as well as electrical mathematics textbooks taught across the country. This apprenticeship program is so highly rated that there are hundreds of applicants, but only a few get in.
After completing his apprenticeship and obtaining a state Journeyman electrician license, he decided it was time to experience different jobs, settings, and people. This allowed him to gain a vast knowledge of different electrical systems in their respective applications. Sam currently holds 6 Journeyman state licenses. (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas) as well as a Master Electrician and Contractor license in the state of Texas.
Sam met his beautiful wife, Beyla, in his hometown of Laramie in July of 2022. Beyla was born and raised in a small town Brock, Tx and just happened to catch Sam’s eye while she was on a family trip to Wyoming. 6 long weeks later, his bags were packed, the house was on the market, and a trailer loaded down with everything he owned. The truck was headed straight south for Lubbock, Tx where Beyla was attending TTU. Fast Forward, Beyla graduated with her RN BSN, they got married in February of 2025, she started work as a nurse for Cook Children’s hospital in Fort Worth, and they are happily settled in Weatherford.
Sam and Beyla have started a beautiful life together, and they hope to have many more years of serving their community and serving God, together.
